About this event
Marking 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, this exhibition traces the scientific undercurrents that shaped the emergence of the United States across four decisive decades from the 1760s to the 1790s. Maps, paintings and instruments on display include a rare 1776 Declaration of Independence print, Benjamin Franklin's map of the Atlantic Gulf Stream and an ornate microscope commissioned for King George III.
